Vintage 1930s black velvet opera coat, appears to have been hemmed from a long coat into a cropped bolero style jacket. It has balloon sleeves that gather at the cuffs, a small collar, and an open fit with no closures.
Measurements and Item Details:
Fits like: Medium
Fabric: Feels like silk velvet with cotton backing, and a silk lining
Condition: Good, very wearable for its age. There is some sloppy stitching at the front of collar and a small partially repaired tear. A 1” tear and 2.5” repaired tear on the left sleeve next to the cuff, both barely noticeable because of the fabric. The inside lining layer has some yellowing, inconsistent stitching, a large hole in the upper back, and some tears in the underams (none of this should be visible when worn or affect the wearability of the jacket).
Shoulders (seam to seam): 14”
Cuff: 9” around
Shown on a 5’9” model with measurements of 33”-24”-37”, usually wears a size extra small to small. See our FAQ section for more information on sizing and condition ratings.
